Insight: Essays on Psychoanalytic Knowing (Jorge L. Ahumada, 2011)

Insight means "How do we know about our psychic reality?"

James Rose mentioned about this book in "The Non-Linear Mind: Psychoanalysis of Complexity in Psychic Life" (2016, Chap 8).

Ahumada takes the view that the fundamental dynamic of insight is counter-induction. This means reversing the usual logic of induction, which is to identify the general from the particular. Counter-induction is an apparently paradoxical position of taking the way things have been observed as a guide to how they are not. ... Identification of these ideas shaping experience is the stuff of insight. These "ideas" might be thought to be the manifestations of the analysand's strange attractors. A la David Smail, we need another book on "Outsight", i.e. "How do we know about our external reality?"
