相看兩不厭

眾鳥高飛盡,孤雲獨去閒。
相看兩不厭,只有敬亭山。

In April 2017, a Californian sex-tech company – Abyss Creations – announced it was about to unveil the world’s first sex robot. The company had risen to prominence some years earlier as a result of innovations in silicon sex toys. The migration of leading-edge AI into the sex industry was to facilitate the application of machine learning to sex dolls, and as a result the sex robot Harmony was born. Jenny Kleeman reported on the arrival of this AI sex robot in the following terms:

Harmony smiles, blinks and frowns. She can hold a conversation, tell jokes and quote Shakespeare. She’ll remember your birthday … what you like to eat, and the names of your brothers and sisters. She can hold a conversation about music, movies and books. And of course, Harmony will have sex with you whenever you want.
