Misinformation is false or inaccurate information.
Disinformation is false information spread deliberately to deceive.
Therefore, the way to deal with misinformation is to keep the channels open, discriminate among the contradictory messages, and form your judgement.
And the way to deal with disinformation, is to respond with mis-disinformation, to mess with it, and to have a good belly laugh. For example, this is the only way to deal with the CCP propaganda.
