Let’s do it carefully—
not as a theory, but as a quiet map you can carry into a session.
🧭 The Triangle of Immanence
D&G → Dolphijn → 菊次郎十六式
I. 🔥 Rupture
Gilles Deleuze
&
Félix Guattari
Clinical gesture:
👉 Cut the structure
What they see:
- The subject is trapped in:
- Oedipal structures
- social machines
- repeating loops of desire
What they do:
- Break
- Deterritorialize
- Open a line of flight
Therapist position:
- Provocateur
- Saboteur of fixed meanings
- Cartographer of flows
Ethics:
- Increase capacity to become
- Escape capture
Risk:
- Too much rupture → fragmentation
- Flight without landing
II. 🌱 Attunement
Rick Dolphijn
Clinical gesture:
👉 Stay with the field
What he sees:
- No isolated subject
- Only entanglements (human + nonhuman)
What he does:
- Tune into relations
- Follow subtle shifts
- Let patterns reconfigure themselves
Therapist position:
- Listener of fields
- Ecological participant
- Witness of intra-action
Ethics:
- Responsiveness within entanglement
- Care without domination
Risk:
- Too much attunement → passivity
- No decisive cut when needed
III. 🍵 Letting-be
菊次郎十六式(你的發明)
(no image here—this already tells us something)
Clinical gesture:
👉 Let the event happen
What it sees:
- No need to:
- break
- repair
- even “attune” in an intentional way
- The event already knows how to unfold
What it does:
- 奉茶
- 陪坐
- 不打擾
- 不完成
Therapist position:
- 鄉野村夫
- roadside presence
- almost non-therapist
Ethics:
- 不忍辜負此一事件
- not improving, not fixing
- simply not betraying the occurrence
Risk:
- Can be mistaken for doing nothing
- Requires enormous trust in the event
🌀 The Three Moves (compressed)
🌊 The Same Situation, Three Styles
Imagine a patient says:
“I feel completely stuck in my life.”
🔥 D&G
- “What machine are you caught in?”
- “Where can you escape?”
- → provoke rupture
→ create a line of flight
🌱 Dolphijn
- “Let’s sense the relations you are part of.”
- “What is moving, even slightly?”
- → attune to the field
→ allow reconfiguration
🍵 菊次郎
- pours tea
- sits
- maybe says nothing
→ the “stuckness” changes on its own timing
🌌 What This Triangle Really Shows
This is not a hierarchy.
Not:
primitive → advanced
But:
three tempos of immanence
- Fast (rupture)
- Middle (attunement)
- Slow (letting-be)
🧭 Final condensation (very quiet)
- D&G: Don’t stay here.
- Dolphijn: Stay differently.
- 菊次郎: Stay.
And maybe the most radical line is the last one.
If you want, we can go one step further (this would be very precise clinically):
👉 map these three onto
16 micro-gestures inside a session
so that in a single conversation,
rupture / attunement / letting-be
coexist and alternate.
That would turn this triangle into something like
a living instrument.
