determined negation (Critical Psychotherapy)

Th is idea reappears in a 1969 radio lecture, “Critique”, where Adorno offers his own variation on Baruch Spinoza’s famous proposition: all determination is negation. In response to Spinoza’s claim that truth is an index sui et falsi, Adorno counters that “the false, once determinately known and precisely expressed, is already an index of what is right and better” (1998b: 288) (Adorno on Nature, Deborah Cook, 2011, p. 79)
