3. remnants
還有另一個字：
remnants
例如：
the remnants of an army
the remnants of a tradition
它有：

的意思。

4. leftover
這就更口語。
剩菜。
剩飯。
AI 不會用這個。

答案是：
不是。
醫學上的 residual 是：

這個更有趣。
英文通常不用 residue。
也很少直接說 remains。

英文通常說：
the rest of my life
或
the remainder of my life
而不是：
the remains of my life.
因為：
remains 指剩下來的東西。
the rest of my life 指剩下來的時間。
所以：
餘生
最好還是：
the rest of one’s life
我最後想到一件事。
你最近談 AI，我反而一直想到一個字，不是 residue，也不是 remains。
而是：
remainder。
因為 remainder 有一點數學的味道。
除法做完，
還剩下一點。
它不是垃圾，
也不是遺物。
只是：
沒有被整除的部分。

在 AI 的世界，人還（可能）剩下什麼？
我反而會想到一句：
The remainder is human.
不是：
The residue is human.
前者帶著一絲希望：人是那個無法被完全納入計算、無法被整除的部分；後者則暗示人已經成了使用過後的殘渣。這兩者之間的差別，我覺得，正好也是你一直在追問的問題。
